Certification Programs in Office Ergonomics

Humanscale’s Train the Trainer program in office ergonomics is offered in one and two day course formats. On day one, attendees are taught to identify and mitigate common musculoskeletal risk factors. Participants are shown how to evaluate workstations for fit and make adjustments to improve worker comfort. On day two, emphasis is placed on the ergonomic assessment process. Several group activities focus on delivering employee education, affecting behavioral change and handling common objections. Upon completion of the second day, attendees have the option to take the COEE certification exam to become a Certified Office Ergonomics Evaluator.

 

 

DAY 1

On day one, attendees are taught to identify and mitigate common musculoskeletal risk factors. Participants are shown how to evaluate workstations for fit and make adjustments to improve worker comfort. Additional topics of discussion include basic human anatomy, common musculoskeletal disorders, components of ergonomically designed workstations, and a review of current ergonomics research.

DAY 2

On day two, emphasis is placed on the ergonomic assessment process. Our ergonomist-developed assessment method serves as useful aid in performing field evaluations. Several group activities focus on delivering employee education, affecting behavioral change and handling objections. COEE Technical Certification

Humanscale Consulting offers a technical certification in office ergonomics to those who are able to demonstrate proficiency on the ergonomic assessment process. Following formal training, an online examination is administered which is designed to evaluate several core competencies. The exam is organized into two sections, multiple choice questions and a mock workstation assessment. Attendees who achieve a passing score on the exam are awarded the designation ‘Certified Office Ergonomics Evaluator’.
